What happens if I don’t use EVV in Georgia?

Georgia’s EVV FAQ says claims for EVV-required services submitted without EVV information will be denied. Agencies that missed the registration and first-claim dates were also exposed to prepayment review. Claims for these services must go through the State EVV solution. The only listed exception is an open support ticket for a system defect.

Georgia has been clear about this in its EVV FAQ for agencies.

- Claims for personal care services submitted without EVV information will be denied.

- Agencies that did not register by July 23, 2021, send at least one EVV claim by August 31, 2021, and include EVV data by October 1, 2021, were exposed to prepayment review. Prepayment review means your claims are checked before they are paid.

- After October 1, 2021, agencies could not submit claims for EVV-required services through the GAMMIS web portal. All such claims go through the State EVV solution.

- A trade newsletter reports that, starting November 1, 2021, all EVV-related claims must include EVV visit information, and the only exception is an outstanding support ticket for a real defect that blocks claim submission. It does not cover user error or lack of training.

Who must take part: agencies that provide Personal Support Services and community living services under the waivers listed on the DCH EVV page.

Because dates and rules for home health were moving in 2026 (DCH shows an August 31, 2026 soft go-live and a September 14, 2026 date for home health claims), check the DCH EVV page for what applies to your service code today.
