Is there a Georgia group for Medicaid waiver home care owners?
Yes. The Georgia Association of Community Care Providers (GACCP) represents home and community based service providers in Georgia, including waiver providers. The Home Care Association of America also has a Georgia chapter. Both offer events, education and advocacy with state agencies.
Two groups come up most:
- Georgia Association of Community Care Providers (GACCP). It is a trade association for providers of home and community based services for elderly and disabled Georgians. Members include providers of services paid by Georgia Medicaid waivers (EDWP including CCSP and SOURCE, ICWP, COMP and NOW) and the Older Americans Act. Its site lists conferences and events, training on service quality, compliance and business practices, and advocacy with the Governor’s Office, the General Assembly, and state agencies including DCH, DBHDD and the Division of Aging Services.
- Home Care Association of America, Georgia Chapter. It connects Georgia home care providers, with peer networking, education and policy work. It has held a day-long Georgia conference in Atlanta (March 2025), met with budget leaders about home care rate increases, and sent compliance alerts, such as a Medicaid revalidation deadline reminder.
There are also state agency stakeholder calls and waiver comment periods. These are worth joining, because they are where rule changes are announced.
How to choose: go to one meeting of each. See which room has owners like you, with your services and size.
Check each group’s site for current membership terms and events.
