Wisconsin EVV and Medicaid home care, in plain words.

Wisconsin gives agencies a free EVV system, and you can use another system if you prefer. EVV covers personal care and supportive home care in Family Care, IRIS and regular Medicaid, plus home health.

Wisconsin EVV, from the state

Same rules, same tangle

In Wisconsin, the visit still gets typed four more times.

The caregiver taps in. The visit goes to Sandata. Then someone in your office carries it by hand into payroll, into billing, into the chart, and to the family on the phone. Every carry is a chance for the numbers to drift. When they do, Wisconsin denies the claim, and you find out weeks later. That is Tangleware™: good tools, and an owner in the middle.

Running an agency in Wisconsin? Tell us.

CareBravo works with the EVV systems states use, including Sandata, HHAeXchange and Netsmart. Each state approves its own connection, and each program has its own rules, so we confirm what is in place for Wisconsin and your programs before you switch anything. If we are not running in Wisconsin yet, we will make you an offer to start now while we build it.

Run the Calculator, or ask for the demo and tell us your state.

Five promises, written like promises.

  1. Nothing stops. Your current system keeps running while CareBravo runs beside it for two weeks on your real data. The Parallel Promise™
  2. 99%, in writing. On Managed Billing, at least 99% of your claims go out without a mistake we caused. If we make one, we fix it free. We cannot promise what a payer decides. Read the guarantee
  3. The floor, stated up front: $250 a month, no seats, no per-user fees, no implementation fee — and corrections never billed twice.
  4. Thirty days’ notice, either way.
  5. Nobody calls unless you ask.

What Wisconsin owners ask.

Do I need a ForwardHealth Medicaid ID if I only serve Family Care or IRIS?

Yes. Wisconsin required agencies serving adult long-term care programs to apply through the ForwardHealth Portal by December 31, 2025. Medicaid does not pay for services on or after April 1, 2026 if you are not enrolled, and enrollment cannot be backdated.

Can I use my own EVV system?

Yes. DHS provides a free EVV system, but you may use an alternate vendor that sends data to the state. Confirm your vendor is set up for Wisconsin before you rely on it for billing.

Does supportive home care in IRIS need EVV?

Yes. Personal care and supportive home care need EVV in IRIS as well as in Family Care, Family Care Partnership, HMOs and fee-for-service. Home health EVV applies everywhere except IRIS, because IRIS does not pay for home health.

Who do I call with EVV questions?

Call Wisconsin EVV Customer Care at 833-931-2035, Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Central, or email vdxc.contactevv@dhs.wisconsin.gov. For questions about getting your ForwardHealth Medicaid ID, the state has a separate long-term care enrollment contact.
