New Mexico EVV and Medicaid home care, in plain words.
New Mexico runs most Medicaid home care through Turquoise Care, so your money comes from one of four health plans. Every personal care, respite and home health visit has to be checked in electronically.

Same rules, same tangle
In New Mexico, the visit still gets typed four more times.
The caregiver taps in. The visit goes to AuthentiCare. Then someone in your office carries it by hand into payroll, into billing, into the chart, and to the family on the phone. Every carry is a chance for the numbers to drift. When they do, New Mexico denies the claim, and you find out weeks later. That is Tangleware™: good tools, and an owner in the middle.

What New Mexico owners ask.
Do I still have to use AuthentiCare in New Mexico?
No, not since the AuthentiCare Data Aggregator went live on 20 May 2026. You can keep using AuthentiCare at no cost, or switch to another EVV app that sends visit data to the state aggregator. If you switch, your vendor pays its own costs, and you still set up workers and review exceptions in the AuthentiCare portal.
What do I sign if I want to use my own EVV app?
The agency signs a vendor declaration and an attestation that the system meets the federal Cures Act rules. Your vendor signs Fiserv’s trading-partner agreements and must meet the state’s list of requirements, such as GPS checks, logged edits and offline capture. Visits that never reach the aggregator are not paid.
Which visits need EVV?
Personal care, respite and home health visits that happen in the home under Turquoise Care. Waiver services may have their own rules, so confirm your service codes with the Health Care Authority and with each health plan you work with.
Who pays me for personal care?
For most clients, one of the four Turquoise Care health plans: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico, Molina, Presbyterian or UnitedHealthcare. You need a contract with each plan whose members you serve. Claims for these visits are built from the visit records in AuthentiCare.
