New Hampshire EVV and Medicaid home care, in plain words.

New Hampshire uses AuthentiCare for EVV, and you can use another EVV system if you file an attestation and send data to AuthentiCare. The state has delayed denying claims for missing EVV, and promises 30 days’ notice before it starts.

Licensing: Home health care providers are licensed by DHHS Health Facilities Administration (He-P 809). Check whether non-medical personal care agencies fall under that rule.

Managed care: Mixed. Three Medicaid Care Management plans cover many state plan services; waiver services are paid fee-for-service through the MMIS.

Same rules, same tangle

In New Hampshire, the visit still gets typed four more times.

The caregiver taps in. The visit goes to AuthentiCare. Then someone in your office carries it by hand into payroll, into billing, into the chart, and to the family on the phone. Every carry is a chance for the numbers to drift. When they do, New Hampshire denies the claim, and you find out weeks later. That is Tangleware™: good tools, and an owner in the middle.

Running an agency in New Hampshire? Tell us.

CareBravo works with the EVV systems states use, including Sandata, HHAeXchange and Netsmart. Each state approves its own connection, and each program has its own rules, so we confirm what is in place for New Hampshire and your programs before you switch anything. If we are not running in New Hampshire yet, we will make you an offer to start now while we build it.

Five promises, written like promises.

  1. Nothing stops. Your current system keeps running while CareBravo runs beside it for two weeks on your real data. The Parallel Promise™
  2. 99%, in writing. On Managed Billing, at least 99% of your claims go out without a mistake we caused. If we make one, we fix it free. We cannot promise what a payer decides. Read the guarantee
  3. The floor, stated up front: $250 a month, no seats, no per-user fees, no implementation fee — and corrections never billed twice.
  4. Thirty days’ notice, either way.
  5. Nobody calls unless you ask.

What New Hampshire owners ask.

Will New Hampshire deny my claim if EVV is missing?

Not yet. DHHS extended the start of the EVV hard-edit denial. It says it will give 30 days’ notice before turning it on, with monthly updates. Until then, you may bill the MMIS or health plans directly. The state’s Program Integrity Unit still monitors EVV use.

Can I use my own EVV system?

Yes. New Hampshire uses an open vendor model. Send DHHS a Third-Party Attestation Form, and have your vendor send visit data to the AuthentiCare aggregator. Your vendor must also tell AuthentiCare support how it will send the data.

Which programs need EVV?

State plan personal care and home health, plus four waivers: Choices for Independence, Acquired Brain Disorder, Developmental Disabilities, and In Home Supports for children with developmental disabilities. Even though claim denials are on hold, the state expects EVV records for all of these visits.

Where do I get EVV training and help?

Email EVV@dhhs.nh.gov for policy questions and forms. For AuthentiCare technical help, email authenticare.support@fiserv.com. Monthly training is offered on the third Wednesday of each month. Register through the training portal listed on the DHHS EVV page at least 10 minutes before the session starts.
