Montana EVV and Medicaid home care, in plain words.

Montana gives agencies a free EVV system, Netsmart Mobile Caregiver+. You can use a different EVV system if Montana Medicaid certifies it and it connects to Mobile Caregiver+. Personal care and home health visits have needed full EVV since July 1, 2024.

Same rules, same tangle

In Montana, the visit still gets typed four more times.

The caregiver taps in. The visit goes to Netsmart Mobile Caregiver+. Then someone in your office carries it by hand into payroll, into billing, into the chart, and to the family on the phone. Every carry is a chance for the numbers to drift. When they do, Montana denies the claim, and you find out weeks later. That is Tangleware™: good tools, and an owner in the middle.

Running an agency in Montana? Tell us.

CareBravo works with the EVV systems states use, including Sandata, HHAeXchange and Netsmart. Each state approves its own connection, and each program has its own rules, so we confirm what is in place for Montana and your programs before you switch anything. If we are not running in Montana yet, we will make you an offer to start now while we build it.

Five promises, written like promises.

  1. Nothing stops. Your current system keeps running while CareBravo runs beside it for two weeks on your real data. The Parallel Promise™
  2. 99%, in writing. On Managed Billing, at least 99% of your claims go out without a mistake we caused. If we make one, we fix it free. We cannot promise what a payer decides. Read the guarantee
  3. The floor, stated up front: $250 a month, no seats, no per-user fees, no implementation fee — and corrections never billed twice.
  4. Thirty days’ notice, either way.
  5. Nobody calls unless you ask.

What Montana owners ask.

What EVV system does Montana use?

DPHHS provides Netsmart Mobile Caregiver+ at no cost to agencies with EVV services. You can use another EVV system only if it is certified for Montana Medicaid and sends its visit data through Mobile Caregiver+.

Since when has full EVV been required?

For dates of service on and after July 1, 2024. That covers personal care, home health and other applicable home and community-based services. If you have visits without good EVV records since then, talk to DPHHS before billing them.

What if my caregivers lose cell service at a client’s home?

Ask the state EVV help line what check-in options your setup supports for low-signal homes. Missed or manual visits create extra work and can hold up payment, so settle this when you start a new rural client, not after the visit.

Who do I call for EVV help in Montana?

Call the state EVV call center at (833) 483-5587, 7am to 6pm Mountain time, or email EVVQuestions@mt.gov. You can also open a ticket through the Mobile Caregiver+ support desk. Have the visit date, client and caregiver ready when you call.
