Maryland EVV and Medicaid home care, in plain words.

Maryland runs its own EVV system, called LTSSMaryland. Your caregivers must use the LTSSMaryland EVV mobile app to check in and out. In Maryland, personal care comes through programs like Community First Choice and Community Personal Assistance Services.

Maryland EVV, from the state

Same rules, same tangle

In Maryland, the visit still gets typed four more times.

The caregiver taps in. The visit goes to LTSSMaryland EVV. Then someone in your office carries it by hand into payroll, into billing, into the chart, and to the family on the phone. Every carry is a chance for the numbers to drift. When they do, Maryland denies the claim, and you find out weeks later. That is Tangleware™: good tools, and an owner in the middle.

Running an agency in Maryland? Tell us.

CareBravo works with the EVV systems states use, including Sandata, HHAeXchange and Netsmart. Each state approves its own connection, and each program has its own rules, so we confirm what is in place for Maryland and your programs before you switch anything. If we are not running in Maryland yet, we will make you an offer to start now while we build it.

Run the Calculator, or ask for the demo and tell us your state.

Five promises, written like promises.

  1. Nothing stops. Your current system keeps running while CareBravo runs beside it for two weeks on your real data. The Parallel Promise™
  2. 99%, in writing. On Managed Billing, at least 99% of your claims go out without a mistake we caused. If we make one, we fix it free. We cannot promise what a payer decides. Read the guarantee
  3. The floor, stated up front: $250 a month, no seats, no per-user fees, no implementation fee — and corrections never billed twice.
  4. Thirty days’ notice, either way.
  5. Nobody calls unless you ask.

What Maryland owners ask.

Can my caregivers use a different EVV app in Maryland?

MDH’s EVV page describes only the LTSSMaryland EVV mobile app, which Maryland Medicaid required for all agencies starting in 2024, plus an older call-in system. We found no published way to use a different vendor. Ask MDH before you buy any other EVV tool for Maryland Medicaid clients.

What if my caregiver has no signal at a client’s home?

Since June 2024, the LTSSMaryland EVV app has an offline mode. Caregivers set an offline password and must have logged in online within the past 48 hours. Visits recorded offline must sync within 7 days, or they are lost and must be entered by hand.

What is the difference between CFC and CPAS?

Both are Maryland Medicaid benefits for help at home. Community First Choice is for people who need an institutional level of care. Community Personal Assistance Services is for people who need help with at least one daily activity, like bathing or dressing. Both need full Medicaid, and neither has an age limit.

What license do I need to give personal care in Maryland?

Agencies that send aides into homes need a Residential Service Agency license from the Maryland Department of Health’s Office of Health Care Quality. Get the license before you enroll with Maryland Medicaid, and make sure the agency name on the license matches your Medicaid enrollment.
