Louisiana EVV and Medicaid home care, in plain words.

Louisiana built its own EVV system, called LaSRS, run by Statistical Resources, Inc. You can use LaSRS or your own EVV app if you file an attestation and connect it to LaSRS. Personal care and home health visits both need EVV.

Managed care: Healthy Louisiana covers most members’ health care through five MCOs: Aetna Better Health, AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana, Healthy Blue, Humana and Louisiana Healthcare Connections. LT-PCS and the OAAS/OCDD waivers are understood to be paid fee-for-service through LDH’s fiscal intermediary, with prior authorization through SRI; verify.

Louisiana EVV, from the state

Same rules, same tangle

In Louisiana, the visit still gets typed four more times.

The caregiver taps in. The visit goes to LaSRS. Then someone in your office carries it by hand into payroll, into billing, into the chart, and to the family on the phone. Every carry is a chance for the numbers to drift. When they do, Louisiana denies the claim, and you find out weeks later. That is Tangleware™: good tools, and an owner in the middle.

CareBravo® in Louisiana

Running an agency in Louisiana? Tell us.

CareBravo works with the EVV systems states use, including Sandata, HHAeXchange and Netsmart. Each state approves its own connection, and each program has its own rules, so we confirm what is in place for Louisiana and your programs before you switch anything. If we are not running in Louisiana yet, we will make you an offer to start now while we build it.

Run the Calculator, or ask for the demo and tell us your state.

Five promises, written like promises.

  1. Nothing stops. Your current system keeps running while CareBravo runs beside it for two weeks on your real data. The Parallel Promise™
  2. 99%, in writing. On Managed Billing, at least 99% of your claims go out without a mistake we caused. If we make one, we fix it free. We cannot promise what a payer decides. Read the guarantee
  3. The floor, stated up front: $250 a month, no seats, no per-user fees, no implementation fee — and corrections never billed twice.
  4. Thirty days’ notice, either way.
  5. Nobody calls unless you ask.

What Louisiana owners ask.

Can I use my own EVV app in Louisiana?

Yes. LDH hosts EVV in LaSRS, but agencies may use their own EVV system. You must send LDH an attestation and complete the third-party data integration process so your visits reach LaSRS. Apps that only connect to other states’ systems will not work until they connect to LaSRS.

What changed with Healthy Louisiana plans in 2026?

LDH did not renew UnitedHealthcare’s contract. Its coverage ended December 31, 2025, and its members were moved to the five remaining plans on January 1, 2026: Aetna Better Health, AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana, Healthy Blue, Humana and Louisiana Healthcare Connections. Check each client’s plan for any services billed through a plan.

What license do I need to provide personal care in Louisiana?

Agencies giving personal care in the home need a Home and Community-Based Services provider license from the LDH Health Standards Section. You choose modules for the services you offer, such as personal care attendant services. Home health agencies have a separate license. Get licensed before you enroll in Medicaid.
