Florida EVV, from the state

Same rules, same tangle

In Florida, the visit still gets typed four more times.

The caregiver taps in. The visit goes to Fee-for-service: HHAeXchange. Then someone in your office carries it by hand into payroll, into billing, into the chart, and to the family on the phone. Every carry is a chance for the numbers to drift. When they do, Florida denies the claim, and you find out weeks later. That is Tangleware™: good tools, and an owner in the middle.

Running an agency in Florida? Tell us.

CareBravo works with the EVV systems states use, including Sandata, HHAeXchange and Netsmart. Each state approves its own connection, and each program has its own rules, so we confirm what is in place for Florida and your programs before you switch anything. If we are not running in Florida yet, we will make you an offer to start now while we build it.

Run the Calculator, or ask for the demo and tell us your state.

Five promises, written like promises.

  1. Nothing stops. Your current system keeps running while CareBravo runs beside it for two weeks on your real data. The Parallel Promise™
  2. 99%, in writing. On Managed Billing, at least 99% of your claims go out without a mistake we caused. If we make one, we fix it free. We cannot promise what a payer decides. Read the guarantee
  3. The floor, stated up front: $250 a month, no seats, no per-user fees, no implementation fee — and corrections never billed twice.
  4. Thirty days’ notice, either way.
  5. Nobody calls unless you ask.

What Florida owners ask.

Which EVV system do I use in Florida?

It depends on who pays. For fee-for-service home health, private duty nursing and personal care, AHCA moved to HHAeXchange on October 1, 2024. For members in a Long-Term Care plan, each plan sets its EVV rules. Ask every plan you contract with before your first visit.

Can I keep my own EVV system for fee-for-service visits?

Yes. AHCA uses an Open Vendor Model, so you can use a third-party EVV system that connects to the state system. AHCA says you still need an HHAeXchange portal account. Call AHCA’s EVV support line at 1-833-AHCA-EVV for setup help.

What changed with Florida’s managed care regions?

In February 2025, Florida moved from eleven numbered regions to nine lettered regions, A through I. Long-Term Care plan options differ by region. Check AHCA’s plan list for each county you serve, then contract with the plans your clients use.

How does a client qualify for Long-Term Care home services?

Three state agencies take part. The Department of Elder Affairs, through CARES, checks if the person needs nursing-home-level care. The Department of Children and Families checks finances. AHCA runs the program and plan enrollment. Home services can have a waiting list, so plan intake with that in mind.
