Arizona EVV and Medicaid home care, in plain words.

Arizona requires EVV for in-home services like attendant care, homemaker, respite and home health. You choose and pay for your own EVV system, and it must send visits to the state’s own EVV hub, which AHCCCS started running in October 2025.

Programs that pay for care at home

Arizona EVV, from the state

Same rules, same tangle

In Arizona, the visit still gets typed four more times.

The caregiver taps in. The visit goes to your state’s EVV system. Then someone in your office carries it by hand into payroll, into billing, into the chart, and to the family on the phone. Every carry is a chance for the numbers to drift. When they do, Arizona denies the claim, and you find out weeks later. That is Tangleware™: good tools, and an owner in the middle.

Running an agency in Arizona? Tell us.

CareBravo works with the EVV systems states use, including Sandata, HHAeXchange and Netsmart. Each state approves its own connection, and each program has its own rules, so we confirm what is in place for Arizona and your programs before you switch anything. If we are not running in Arizona yet, we will make you an offer to start now while we build it.

Run the Calculator, or ask for the demo and tell us your state.

Five promises, written like promises.

  1. Nothing stops. Your current system keeps running while CareBravo runs beside it for two weeks on your real data. The Parallel Promise™
  2. 99%, in writing. On Managed Billing, at least 99% of your claims go out without a mistake we caused. If we make one, we fix it free. We cannot promise what a payer decides. Read the guarantee
  3. The floor, stated up front: $250 a month, no seats, no per-user fees, no implementation fee — and corrections never billed twice.
  4. Thirty days’ notice, either way.
  5. Nobody calls unless you ask.

What Arizona owners ask.

Arizona changed EVV systems in 2025. What do I need to do?

AHCCCS started its own EVV hub on October 1, 2025. Your EVV vendor now sends visit data to AHCCCS instead of Sandata. If your vendor did not use Sandata as the hub, AHCCCS said you would not need changes. Ask your vendor to confirm your visits are reaching the AHCCCS aggregator.

Does the state give me a free EVV app?

No. AHCCCS says every agency must contract with an EVV vendor of its choice and pay for it. The system must meet AHCCCS rules and send each visit to the AHCCCS EVV aggregator. Pick a vendor that already sends data to AHCCCS before you start serving members.

Which ALTCS health plans do I need to contract with?

It depends on where you work. For rates effective October 1, 2026, AHCCCS lists UnitedHealthcare Community Plan in the North and Central areas, Banner–University Family Care in Central and South, and Mercy Care in Central and in Pima County. Plans can change after the new procurement, so check AHCCCS first.

Is there a waitlist for ALTCS home care?

ALTCS is an entitlement program, so people who meet the medical and financial rules can get services. For agencies, growth depends on your plan contracts and staff, not a waiting list. Confirm current eligibility rules with AHCCCS before you plan around them.
