  • Scale and reach in personal care: over 4,000 agencies moved onto the software, including 8 of the 10 largest enterprises (WellSky product page). It won Best in KLAS in 2024 and 2025 (WellSky landing page).
  • Family communication: the Family Room portal is free and lets families see the care calendar and shift notes, and pay or split part of the bill.
  • Wide EVV aggregator coverage: integrations with HHAeXchange, Sandata, Netsmart/Tellus and AuthentiCare. As of its Oct 2023 state list, ’solution available’ covers most states, Georgia included.
  • AI aimed at documentation: WellSky Summarize for Personal Care (Feb 2026, no extra cost) and Ambient Documentation (Apr 2026, built with AutoMynd) turn notes and spoken onboarding conversations into summaries and care-plan drafts, which staff review.

Where the work still lands on you

  • Payroll is not native: hours leave WellSky for a separate payroll processor. One Netchex description of the WellSky connection is a one-way manual file upload, with nothing written back to WellSky.
  • In closed EVV states (CT, MD, NM, OK, SC, TN, per WellSky’s Oct 2023 list), agencies must use the state-mandated EVV system, a second system beside WellSky.
  • WellSky’s published Personal Care AI is for documentation (summaries, ambient care-plan drafting). We found no published Personal Care AI for scheduling, EVV exceptions or claims, so that work stays with office staff.
  • Ambient Documentation fills the care plan, but agency staff review and verify it before submission (WellSky/AutoMynd announcement).
  • User reports on Capterra (not verified): caregiver clock-in/out failures and app freezes, long support wait times, and onboarding lasting weeks or months.
